ABOUT GENESIS BE
In 2016, Genesis Be (G.Be) captivated America with a bold theatrical protest against the Mississippi State Flag that went viral. Publications such as Billboard, NY Daily News, ABC News, VICE Impact and more featured the young artist and activist, allowing her to share her message of racial healing, gender equality, and youth empowerment. In 2017, she was the subject of a Moral Courage Project documentary "Confederate Pride, White Supremacy & My State Flag" and continues to facilitate civil discourse to improve race relations in her home state Mississippi. Since 2011, Be has been utilizing Hip-Hop and visual art as a tool to educate & inspire young people to be proactive in community service and civic engagement with her organization Strive Till I Rise. She’s set to launch her first solo art exhibit, People Not Things, in Los Angeles March 1st, 2019. She has been featured on panels and shared stages with notables such as Linda Sarsour (co-chair Womens’ March), Roland Martin (News One), Aunjanue Ellis (Birth of a Nation actress), Congresswoman Barbara Lee, Jeffery Robinson (Dep Director ACLU), and more.
